Controlled Exposure of PII:
As a rule, our system permits the researcher access to Personally Identifiable Information only when they are at the court house relevant to the order – we use external GPS tools, combined with our systems control logic to govern this access.
In the event of an exception (e.g. a researcher realizes that they made a type-o, or that they closed an order incorrectly, and they are no longer at the court house) we permit access – an event that is tracked and that reflects negatively on the researcher’s performance rating, to discourage such events.
This approach controls exposure of PII, while assuring the delivery of correct search findings.
